Hey Boujee Philosophers-

this most recent post was hard to write and brought me to tears. The line: ‘I was formed by Georgia clay and laid to dry under a South Carolina palmetto…’ hit me like a ton of bricks; as it was the first time I had laid claim to the land so specifically. I am fully acknowledging that America is my land, and I got to stand on business and claim it as such. Black Americana is real; and Black Americana is something that I am deeply missing.

There has been real sacrifice for this life that we’ve chosen. And it is extremely isolating at times. But, I could no longer stand living in that country. Now that the new administration is in, I know that we made the right decisions as things are getting incredibly worse and intolerable. My spirit - my moral center - would not be able to survive living in that place right now.

So, I’m hoping ya’ll consider these questions, as the time for big and bold, scary and new choices are upon us:
